Mercy Radio is a lay apostolate of the Catholic Church that exists to serve the people of Memphis with the true teachings of the Catholic faith. We strive to fulfill the call for a New Evangelization and reach out to Catholics and non-Catholics, believers and non-believers alike. We hope our programming will strengthen Catholics in their faith and provide information to all who have questions about the Catholic Church. Our material will always be true to Church doctrine, and in agreement with the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
We are a fully funded entity, independent financially from the Diocese of Memphis, but always under the leadership of our shepherd, Bishop Holley.
The idea for Mercy Radio began in August, 2015 with a small meeting of dedicated individuals familiar with Catholic radio and determined to find a way to bring it to the wonderful city of Memphis. Without a way to purchase an LPFM station, a streaming version was pursued in an effort to reach as many people as possible. The name “Mercy” was inspired by the Jubilee Year of Mercy called for by Pope Francis from December 8, 2015 to November 20. 2016, and the universal need for mercy by all God’s children. The gift of free programming provided by Mother Angelica’s own EWTN enabled the station to launch with a modest budget.
Mercy Radio is in partnership with Lumen Civitatis, and as such, is a 501c3 organization.
All donations to Mercy Radio are tax deductible. Future fundraising will provide a means to interject more local medium, pay for our online audio server and eventually, lease of a broadcast station. Your support is greatly appreciated!
