Just a start – introduction

The idea for Mercy Radio began in August, 2015 with a small meeting of dedicated individuals familiar with Catholic radio and determined to find a way to bring it to the wonderful city of Memphis.  Without a way to purchase an LPFM station, a streaming version was pursued in an effort to reach as many people as possible.  The name “Mercy” was inspired by the Jubilee Year of Mercy called for by Pope Francis from December 8, 2015 to November 20. 2016, and the universal need for mercy by all God’s children.  The gift of free programming provided by Mother Angelica’s own EWTN enabled the station to launch with a modest budget.

Mercy Radio is in partnership with Lumen Civitatis, and as such, is a 501c3 organization.  All donations to Mercy Radio are tax deductible.

Future fundraising will provide a means to interject more local medium and eventually, lease of a broadcast station.
